The Latino Family Advisory Board (LFAB) comprises Spanish–speaking families from the Baltimore community who receive care at the Bayview Children’s Medical Practice (CMP). The LFAB members are dedicated to helping reduce health inequities by improving patient-centered health care.
Our monthly meetings offer an opportunity for LFAB members to share their lived experiences, opinions, and visions to improve the health of Latinos in Baltimore. Johns Hopkins physicians, researchers, and staff learn from the LFAB the challenges Latinos face in receiving health care.
The LFAB was established in 2011 by Dr. Lisa DeCamp and Dr. Sarah Polk. This year marks our last year at the Bayview Children’s Medical Practice and the start of a new era for the LFAB.

El Consejo de Familias Latinas (LFAB, por sus siglas en inglés) está compuesto por familias de Baltimore que hablan Español y reciben atención médica en Bayview Children’s Medical Practice (CMP). Los miembros de LFAB se dedican reducir la inequidad en salud y mejorar la atención médica centrada en el paciente.
Las reuniones mensuales del consejo son una oportunidad para que los miembros compartan sus experiencias, opiniones y visión para mejorar la salud de los Latinos en Baltimore. Así mismo, los médicos, investigadores y personal de Johns Hopkins identifican los desafíos que enfrentan los Latinos para recibir atención médica.
El Consejo de Familias fue establecido en 2011 por la Dra. Lisa DeCamp y la Dra. Sarah Polk. Este año marca nuestro último año en Bayview Children’s Medical Practice y el comienzo de una nueva era para El Consejo.
