Dilian Barrera and Claudia Ruiz are members of the newly created Governance Subcommittee at the longstanding Latino Family Advisory Board. They were invited to join the short course on Multilingual Approaches to Research Methods hosted by the Children’s Hospital of Philadelphia. LFAB members participated in a panel conversation with Dr. Tania Caballero about their experiences advising and participating in research and what ways researchers can promote trust and partnership with community members to plan and conduct meaningful and equitable research with the Latino community. The audience consisted of about 40 researchers from across the country.

This course is an in-person educational program for researchers with the goal of providing the sensitivity, skills, and knowledge to recruit and engage in research with children and families with Emerging English Proficiency (EEP)
