Amigos,
Centro SOL se une a las voces en protesta contra la separación a padres e hijos en la frontera. Nosotros tenemos el privilegio de servir y conocer a miles de familias inmigrantes y sabemos que la decisión de migrar a Estados Unidos no es fácil. No es fácil dejar al país de origen y decir adiós a amigos, parientes, y al hogar. Sin embargo, la violencia y la pobreza deja a muchos sin opción, y, a pesar del sacrificio, comienzan la peligrosa jornada hacia el norte. Este camino se hace por amor- en particular, amor a los hijos y el deseo de brindarles una vida mejor. La separación de familias es un acto cruel e inhumano. Los Estados Unidos, como país líder en el mundo, debe respetar los derechos humanos y los derechos del inmigrante, y poner punto final a esta desgarradora táctica lo antes posible.

Centro SOL condemns the separation of parents and children at the border. We have the privilege of serving and knowing thousands of immigrant families and know well that the decision to migrate to the US is not easy. It is not easy to leave one’s country, family, friends, home. However, violence and poverty force people to embark on a dangerous journey, despite the sacrifice. This journey is taken for love- in particular, love for children and the desire to give them a better life. The separation of families is cruel and inhumane. The United States, as a leader of the free world, must respect human rights, and the rights of immigrants, and put a stop to this devastating tactic once and for all.
