What is Teen Testimonios?
Program Description
Teen Testimonios is a school-based cognitive behavioral intervention for trauma that targets middle and high-school Latino students in Baltimore City Public Schools who recently arrived in the US. The program uses an evidence-based curriculum Cognitive Behavioral Intervention for Trauma in Schools (CBITS) and is facilitated during the school year by Baltimore City Public Schools bilingual social workers.
The Teen Testimonios program expands through the summer months offering additional support including social connections, youth activities, English language practice and coping skills. The activities of the summer program fall under two main categories: Coping Skills and English Learning.
Program Details
Recruitment: Students who have previously been part of the school-based program.
Dates/Time: Daily from 12 – 4 pm during the months of July and August

Enrolled in an ESOL or ELL program at school

Enrolled in middle school (grades 6, 7, 8) or high school (grades 9, 10, 11)

Supervision
Each Testimonios meeting is moderated by a licensed psychiatrist or a psychotherapist fluent in Spanish from Johns Hopkins.
